McGee-Sippel wins 2009 ‘Deadly’

Lorraine McGee-Sippel is the winner of the 2009 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Deadly Award for outstanding achievement in literature.

McGee-Sippel is the author of Hey Mum, What’s a Half-Caste?, published in April by Magabala Books, and was awarded the first Indigenous Mentoriship with the Australian Society of Authors in 2001.

McGee-Sippel received the Inaugural Yabun Elder award in 2008 for her contribution to reconciliation.
