Perth Writers’ Festival kicks off

The Perth Writers’ Festival kicks off this coming Saturday 28 February, running to 2 March. The University of Western Australia campus will play host to over 100 discussions, readings and other literary events. Guests include Sebastian Barry, Stella Rimington, James McBride, Robert Drewe, Kate Grenville, Alan Weisman, Mark Kurlansky, Rana Dasgupta, Andrew Nicoll and Robert Dessaix. ‘Festivals are an opportunity to be inspired, to open our minds to new thoughts and to hear different interpretations of the events we experience,’ said program manager Katherine Dorrington. ‘More than just an opportunity to meet like-minded souls, a writers’ festival is about creating community–between authors, readers and our next generation of literary minds’.
