Speech Pathology Australia ‘Book of the Year’ awards announced

Speech Pathology Australia has announced the winners of its annual ‘Book of the Year’ Awards.

The awards, which began in 2003, are intended to highlight books that can ‘assist children’s speech, language and literacy development’.

The 2009 winners in three different age categories were: The Terrible Plop (Ursula Dubosarsky, Viking, Young Children, 2 – 5 years); The Gobbling Tree (Mark Carthew, illus Susy Boyer, New Frontier Publising, Lower Primary, 5 – 8 years) and Noodle Pie (Ruth Starke, Omnibus, Upper Primary 8 – 12 years).
