‘THE NIB’ CAL WAVERLEY LIBRARY AWARD FOR LITERATURE 2009 SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED
The shortlist for the 2009 CAL Waverly Library Award, also know as ‘The Nib’, has been announced.
This year’s shortlisted works are:
* Tom Wills (Greg de Moore, A&U)
* The Land I Came Through Last (Robert Gray, Giramondo)
* The Accidental Guerrilla (David Kilcullen, Scribe)
* Shattered Anzacs (Marina Larsson, UNSW Press)
* Tour to Hell (David Levell, UQP)
* Art of Australia (John McDonald, Pan Macmillan).
All shortlisted authors are winners of the Alex Buzo Prize and are in the running for the $20,000 main prize, which will be announced on 25 November.
The shortlisted titles have been chosen from 160 nominations. The judges’ comments on each of the shortlisted works can be found here.
